MASALA DOSA BATTER RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
Dosa rice - 1 1/2 cup Fenugreek seeds - 1 tsp Thick poha - 1/4 cup Chana dal - 1/4 cup Urad dal - 1/4 cup Water - 1 1/2 cup+1/2 cup (for grinding) Salt - 1 tsp Sugar - 2 tsp Rice flour - 1 tbsp
Preparation time : 20 minutes Soaking time : 5 hours Fermenting time : 8 hours Cooking time : 1 hour No of dosas : 15-17 dosas No of servings : 5-6 members Cuisine : Souh Indian Coarse : Breakfast
Method:
1. To a bowl, add dosa rice, urad dal, chana dal, fenugreek seeds, and rinse well.
2. Add water and soak for 5 hours.
3. Add poha in a bowl, rinse it well and soak for 30 minutes.
4. Drain water from rice, dal and place it in a blender jar.
5. Add soaked poha, water, blend it into smooth batter and place it in a bowl.
6. Rinse the blender jar with some water, pour in the bowl, add salt, mix well, cover and ferment for 8 hours.
7. Mix the batter once, add sugar, rice flour and mix once.
8. Heat a tava, greece it with some oil, pour a laddleful of batter and spread slightly thick in size.
9. Add masala dosa khara chutney, spread it all over the dosa and drizzle some oil.
10. Cook the masala cook for 1 or 2 minutes, place a laddleful of palya, fold the dosa and serve. |
