WHITE CHANA KURMA RECIPE
INGREDIENTS FOR GRINDING
Finely chopped coconut - 1/2 cup Garlic - 4 nos Ginger - 3 nos (1 inch) Green chilies - 2 nos Fenal seeds - 1/2 tsp Poppy seeds - 1/2 tsp Elaichi - 1 no Cloves - 4 nos Cinamon - 1 no Fried gram - 2 tsp Water - 1/2 cup
INGREDIENTS TO MAKE KURMA
Oil - 2 tbsp Fenal seeds - 1/4 tsp Finely chopped onion - 1 no Curry leaves - 1 string Finely chopped tomato - 1 no Salt - 2 tsp Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp Red chili powder - 1 tsp Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp Curd - 2 tbsp Soaked white chana - 2 cups Water - 1 1/2 cup Finely chopped coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
Preparation time : 15 minutes Cooking time : 30 minutes No of servings : 3-4 members Cuisine : Indian Coarse : Side Dish for poori, chapati or parotta
Method:
1. Place all the grinding ingredients in a blender jar and grind it into smooth paste by adding water.
2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add fenal seeds, chopped onion, curry leaves and saute until it turns golden brown in color.
3. Add chopped tomato, turmeric powder, salt and saute until it turns mashy.
4. Add red chili powder, garam masala powder, curd and saute for a minute.
5. Add soaked white chana, ground paste, water, stir well, cover and pressure cook for 4 whistles.
6. Add chopped coriander leaves, mix well and serve.
