JACKFRUIT PAYASAM RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
Sabbakki - 1/2 cup Water - 2 cups Deseeded jackfruit - 25 nos Jaggey - 1 cup Water - 1 cup Thick coconut milk - 2 cups Crushed elaichis - 2 nos Ghee - 2 tbsp Cashewnuts - 10 nos Raisins - 10 nos Chopped coconut - 1/4 cup

Method:
1. Add sabbaki in a bowl, wash it well, add water and soak for 8 hours.
2. Deseed jackfriuts and chop it into small pieces.
3. Add water in a sauce pan and bring it to a boil.
4. Add soaked sabakki and cook for 10 minutes until it turns soft.
5. Add chopped jackfruit and mix well.
6. Add jaggery in a pan, add water, stir well without any lumps and strain it in a bowl.
7. Add the jaggery syrup in the payasam, stir well and let it boil for 10 minutes.
8. Add coconut milk, turn off the flame and set it aside.
9. Heat ghee in a pan, add chopped coconut and saute until it turns golden brown in color.
10. Add cashewnuts and fry until it turns golden brown in color.
11. Add raisins, fry until it pops up, add fried nuts in the payasam, add crushed elaichis, mix well and serve. |
