PAASI PARUPU KADAYAL RECIPE
INGREDIENTS FOR TEMPERING
Oil - 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Finely chopped garlic - 10 nos
Curry leaves - 1 string
Salt - 1 tbsp
Water - 1/2 cup
Preparation time : 15 minutes
Cooking time : 35 minutes
No of servings : 4 members
Cuisine : South Indian
Coarse : Side Dish for white rice, idly, ragi mudde or dosa
Method:
1. Heat a pan, add green gram and dry roast for 2-3 minutes.
2. Place the roasted green gram in a pressure cooker and rinse well for 2-3 times.
3. Break dry red chilies into small pieces and add it in the pressure cooker.
4. Add chopped onion, tomatoes, turmeric powder, water, cover and pressure cook for 7-8 whistles.
5. Mash the dal, tomatoes and set aside.
6. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and let it splatter.
7. Add chopped onion, curry leaves and saute until it turns golden brown in color.
8. Add mashed dal, salt, water, stir well, boil for 2 minutes, turn off the flme and serve.

| Saute until it turns golden brown in color |
