SOFT AND SPONGY DOSA RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

Idly rice - 1/4 cup
Dosa rice - 3/4 cup
Urad dal - 1/4 cup
Chana dal - 1 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Sugar - 1/2 tsp

Preparation time : 20 minutes
Soaking time : 6 hours
Fermentation time : 8 hours
Cooking time : 30 minutes
No of making : 10 Dosas
No of servings : 3-4 members
Cuisine : South Indian
Coarse : Breakfast

Method:

1. Take a bowl add dosa rice, idly rice, urad dal, chana dal, fenugreek seeds, rinse well and soak for 6         hours.

2. Place the soaked rice and dal in a blender jar, add salt, sugar, some water and grind it into smooh            batter.

3. Pour the batter into the bowl, rinse the blender jar with some water, pour it into the bowl and mix            once.

4. Cover it with a plate, ferment fot 8 hours and mix once.

5. Heat a tava, greece some oil, pour a laddleful of batter, spread it slightly, drizzle some oil, cover and      cook for 2 minutes in medium flame.

6. Once when the dosa cooks spongy and soft, take off the dosa from the tava, place it on a plate and          serve hot.

Add 3/4 cup of dosa rice in a bowl

Add 1/4 cup of idly rice

Add 1/4 cup of urad dal

Add 1 1/2 tsp of chana dal and 1/2 tsp
fenugreek seeds

Rinse well for 3-4 times

Add water and soak for 6 hours

The rice and dal has being soaked well

Place the soaked rice and dal in a blender jar

Add 1/2 tsp of salt

Add 1/2 tsp of sugar

Add some water

Grind it into smooth batter

Pour the batter into a bowl

Rinse the blender jar with some water

Pour it into the bowl

Mix once

Cover it with a plate and let it ferment for 8 hours

The batter has being fermented well

Mix once

Heat a tava, greece some oil, pour
 a laddleful of batter on the tava

Spread the batter slightly

Drizzle some oil

Cover and cook for 2 minute in medium flame

The has being cooked nice and soft

Take the dosa from the tava


Place it on the plate

Serve hot
