BADAM  HALWA RECIPE


INGREDIENTS

Badam - 1 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1 1/4 cup
Milk - 1 cup
Ghee - 1/4 cup
Cardamom / ellakai - 1 no
Saffron / kum kum poo - 1 pinch 
Milk - 2 tbsp


Soaking time : 4-5 hours
Preparation time : 30 minutes
Cooking time : 45 minutes
No of servings : 4-5 members
Cuisine : Indian
Coarse : Dessert 


Method : 

1) Take badam in a bowl, add water till it sinks and soak for 3-4 hours.

2) Discard the skin and place the badam in a blender.                             

3) Add milk and blend in a slight coarse texture.                        

4) Take hot milk, add saffron, mix once and set aside.

5) Heat  ghee in a kadai, add the blended badam, mix well till combined  in a medium flame and mix well.

6) Add sugar and mix well continuosly till the sugar melts.

7) The mixture will start to thicken, keep mixing for 5 minutes.

8) Add saffron milk, ghee, cardamom powder  and mix well till it separates the pan. 

9) Cool the halwa and serve.
 

Take 1 1/2 cup of almonds in a bowl

Add water till the almonds sinks 

Soak the almonds for 3-4 hours

The badam has being well soaked 

Press the badam and the skin comes out easily,
do the same for the rest of the badam

Separate off the skin from the badam

Discard the skin and wash the badam

Place the badam in a blender

Add 1 cup of milk


Blend in a slight coarse texture

Heat 3 tbsp of ghee in a kadai

Add the blended badam 

Mix till it is well combined, cook for 5 minutes
in a medium flame and mix continuosly

Add 1 1/4 cup of sugar

Mix well

Mix continuosly till the sugar melts well

Keep stirring and cook well

The mixture will start to thicken, keep mixing 
for 5 minutes

Add soaked saffron milk


Mix well

Add rest of the ghee


Mix well

Cook for 5 minutes in low flame

Add cardamom powder

Mix well

Mix well till it separates the pan

Turn of the flame

Let the halwa cool down

Serve.
