CARROT HALWA RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
Grated carrot - 4 cups Milk - 3 cups Sugar - 1 cup Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp Cashew nuts - 5 nos Chopped almonds - 5nos Ghee - 3 tbsp
Preparation time : 20 minutes Cooking time : 45 minutes No of servings : 4 members Cuisine : Indian Coarse : Sweet
Method :
1. Take peeled, washed and grated carrot.
2. Chop the almonds.
3. Heat ghee in a pan and let the ghee to melt.
4. Add cashew nuts, fry till it turns into a nice golden brown in color.
5. Take the cashew nuts off the pan and place it aside in a plate.
6. In the same left over ghee add the grated carrot.
7. Saute the carrot for about 10 minutes in a medium flame.
8. Once the carrot is half cooked pour milk and stir well.
9. Cook on a low flame till the milk has absorbed completely by the carrot.
10. Add sugar and cook till the sugar has been dissolved nicely.
11. Keep on stirring constantly until all the moisture is been absorbed well.
12. Add cardamom powder, chopped almonds and cashew nuts.
13. Mix them up well and add 1 tbsp of ghee and keep on mixing it till the halwa separates the pan.
14. Turn off the heat and serve
